The Drinks Trust Drinks Industry Survey 2021

The last 18 months proved to be one of the most challenging times in our industry history, with an unprecedented need for help for those impacted by Government restrictions due to COVID-19. The Drinks Trust responded to these challenges, evolved its services, and delivered support unparalleled in its history. As the pandemic began to take its toll on the industry, the demand for the charity’s services increased rapidly.

In 2020, The Drinks Trust has spent over £1.2M in supporting the industry providing direct assistance to over 5000 individuals with 2619 people receiving emergency grants. As the entire industry works to recover from the effects of COVID-19 and the impact of Brexit, The Drinks Trust will continue to provide support to those in need evolving its services to the industry we serve.

The Drinks Trust Industry Survey 2021 has been created to capture the current mood of the hospitality and drinks industry, understand concerns and issues, as well as continuing to understand their thoughts are on diversity and inclusion in our industry. The results will help to evolve the services and support supplied by The Drinks Trust as well as businesses in the drinks and hospitality sectors. The survey comprises four sections covering you, your work life, wellbeing, and diversity in our industry and should take 12 minutes to complete. By understanding the diverse nature of our industry, and what more needs to be done to evolve it, we can better support the drinks industry community.

The survey has been created by We Are Wellbeing in association with Best Bar None, The Burnt Chef Project, NDML, NTIA, SIBA, WSET and WSTA. It will run from 4th to 26th November 2021.

The Drinks Trust CEO, Ross Carter (pictured) said, “we are very keen to continue to understand the needs of the people within our industry so we can ensure we provide the best possible support to them. The 2021 survey is an evolution of our first survey last year. We ask all businesses to share the survey so we can build a comprehensive picture”.

Andy from We Are Wellbeing added, "We are proud to be partnering with The Drinks Trust on their annual survey.  It provides us with a valuable insight into an industry we deeply care about and the wonderful people that make it thrive.”
