Charlie’s has long believed in the power of a pub to bring people together. In the past year it has:
It’s proud to announce that team member William Blake, with them for 19 years, was named one of only four UK winners in Sky Business’s Match Day GOAT Awards. Recognised for creating an outstanding sporting atmosphere, William and the bar were later featured by a Sky film crew capturing the spirit of Charlie’s.
Its community regularly describes Charlie’s as a “home from home.” Events such as Summerfest have become much-loved fixtures, drawing families, artists and visitors from across Fermanagh. Summerfest took place in August.
This year it also backed the 10th annual Wheels & Jigs charity cycle to the Willie Clancy Festival, raising funds for Brain Tumour Ireland in memory of local musician Eamonn Nugent. With many of its session players involved, it was a natural fit. It’s also supported the Fermanagh Fleadh, and sponsored two tables at St Michael’s Grammar’s MacRory Cup Gala Ball.
Its support often extends quietly too, such as offering rehearsal space at short notice to a local theatre group, who later sent heartfelt thanks. And pub director Una Burns recently attended the NOW Group’s Inclusive Intelligence event, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive leadership and meaningful opportunities for staff and customers alike.
Charlie’s Bar continues to strengthen bonds with its regulars while drawing new visitors who value its approach to community, culture and care. Whether through sport, music, fundraising or simply offering a safe, welcoming space, it remains true to the belief that a good pub is at the heart of its town.
From football pitches to festival stages, Charlie’s Bar is proud to play its part in Enniskillen life. By celebrating culture, supporting good causes and championing inclusivity, it aims to keep being that “home from home” where everyone belongs.
