To support families, children, and vulnerable individuals in the community, the Westerton Arms hosted a series of festive charity events throughout December:

• Charity Brunches:
  Held every weekend, the brunches featured a special menu with a portion of proceeds donated to a local food bank. Raffles and silent auctions, featuring prizes from local businesses, raised £2,500 to help provide essential winter support to families in need.
• Lunch with Santa Events:
  These sold-out family-friendly gatherings brought joy to children and their families, offering festive crafts, a visit with Santa, and a Christmas menu. The event raised £1,800 for a local children’s hospice.
• Community Carol Evenings:
  Held in the beer garden and supported by local choirs and musicians, these festive evenings brought neighbours together in song. Sales of mulled wine, mince pies, and hot chocolate raised £1,200 for a local homeless charity.

All of these events were underpinned by generosity from customers and the dedication of staff, making the season meaningful for hundreds of attendees.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Residents reconnected, families created memories, and guests were moved by the spirit of togetherness. Local businesses offered support through prize donations, and visitors described the events as “heartwarming” and “magical.”

Beyond the impressive fundraising total of £5,500, the Westerton Arms made a meaningful difference to the lives of many. Their efforts supported food security, children’s care, and homelessness services. Most importantly, they brought the community together at a time when connection was needed most.
